Comment DBCC-6864

Rural areas, specifically Powys, appear to have been subsumed into much larger areas (based on the population covered?). However, for the lower half of Powys (Brecon and Radnor), the needs of the rural sections of area are going to be overwhelmed by the larger population number who live in Neath and Swansea.
The upper half - Montgomeryshire - is in a proposed constituency covering such a vast area that no one politician is ever going to be able to understand the needs of so many spread out communities, or be able to serve them effectively.
This plan will only exacerbate the rural / urban divide - our Welsh version of the north /south divide in England.
There needs to be an understanding that just because some areas are more rural, with a less dense population, they still need effective representation. Rural residents are becoming sidelined.
