Comment DBCC-6949

There are two constituencies which I think are far too big, and frankly, just a bit odd. The first of those is Dwyfor Merionnydd, Montgomeryshire and Glyndwr. It’s huge. Personally, I think it would be better to combine Dwyfor Merionnydd with Ynys Mon. Yes, there is no road link between these two constituencies, but I am of the view that there is far more in common between them culturally. I would then combine Wrexham with Montgomeryshire which I think is a much more appropriate combination. I’d then link Bangor Aberconwy with Clwyd North, and Clwyd east with Alyn and Deeside. All of these have transport links and seem appropriate to me.
The second constituency I have a major problem with is ‘Brecon, Radnor, Neath and Swansea East’. This is a huge constituency and links a large rural area with a very urban area. In my opinion, there is little in the way of similarities between them. As such, I think it would make more sense to combine Swansea East and Neath with Aberavon Maesteg as they are much more synonymous. As for Brecon and Radnorshire, I think it should be linked with Merthyr Tydfil and Aberdare due to its proximity. Rhondda and Ogmore could then be linked put with Pontypridd.
