I am responding as a current returning officer with responsibility for the Swansea and Gower area.

Of specific concern to me is the pairing of Swansea east and neath with Brecon and Radnor. The recent UK election suggested that even with the previously approved merger of Swansea East with Neath, our residents became confused and the move towards the proposal would make the situation even worse and increase voter apathy.

However, if the legislation prevents this then a better alternative would be to align Gower with Llanelli and Swansea west with Swansea East and neath.
