There seems to be a fault with the site as I cannot make the pairings I wish. So it will have to be in this message.
Start in the area I'm in.
It is good to have both sides of Newport together. Therefore to form one called Newport and Islwyn.
For Torfaen the most suitable neighbour would be Blaenau Gwent. They are both part of the valleys with that community and people. It would be more apropriate for it to be with Newport. There are many connection and movement between the two. Momouthshire is totally different. Being rural, farming and the people are so different. It would not form a cohesive whole as the others would.
Caerphilly and Merthyr Tydfil and Rhmney bring two valley areas together. There is a good A road that links them and Nelson and Treharris join them together. It could be called Rhmney and Merthyr (Tydfil) after the areas.
Cardiff North and Cardiff West have very much the same background and people are similar.
Cardiff East and Cardiff South and Penarth have all the city in one and each side of the centre are similar with the same types of people.
Pontypridd and Rhondda and Ogmore bring these two valley parts together-Pontypridd is at the head of Rhondda. It could have the three names for its name.
Bridgend and Vale of Glamorgan share the coast and Bridgend is in one sense the vale's gateway. Could be named Bridgend Vale.
Aberavon Maesteg and Neath and Swansea East would have most of the borough of NeathPortTalbot - all of these two major towns. It would be called NeathPortTalbot and Swansea East.
Swansea West and Gower are part of Swansea (Principal Council) and woul form the Swansea-Gower seat.
Lanelli and Carmarthen are in the same county and consist of the whole of the county. It could be named Caerfyrddin.
Mid and South Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion and Preseli would put all Pebrokeshire in one. It could be named Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire.
BreconRadnor and Cwm Tawe and Monmouthshire are both essentially farming communities. Communications is excellent along the A40.
Montgomeryshire and Glyndwr and Wrexham. This unites all or Wrexham city into one. Could be called Wrexham and Montgomeryshire.
Alyn and Deeside and Clwyd East enables all of Flintshire to be together. Flintshire and Denbigh are both rural counties. Along the coast it brings the holidays towns of Prestatyn and Rhyl together which very much form one. It could be called Flintshire and Denbighshire.
Clwyd North and Bangor Aberconwy would bring all the Conwy Borough in one seat which is extremely benefical for the council, the representative and the people. It could be named after two major towns - Bangor and Colwyn.
Dwyfor Meirionnydd and Ynys Mon would form one. It brings together two rural agricultural areas. The people there have similar lifestyles and would work well together. They have much in common. Not least that they are both strongly Welsh-speaking areas. From Yyns Mon to Dwyfor Meirionnydd is a short distance going from Bangor to Aber Pwll, Y Felinheli and co. and to Caernarfon.
Ynys Mon is much 'closer' and in harmony with County Gwynedd than Conwy Borough. This is far more important than the distance to go from the two current Westminister constituencies. Not all the current seat of Dwyfor Meirionnydd is actually in either of these areas e.g. Caernarfon town. Thus it is NOT an appropriate name. It covers most of Gwynedd (except the Bangor district). The name could be Gwynedd and Yyns Mon - its two counties.
