Comment DBCC-7894

The ex mining villages of South Wrexham stretching from Glynceriog to Rhostyllen
have no connection with the communities of the Llyn peninsular. The villages of South Wrexham naturally associate with the city of Wrexham, administratively,
commercially, work wise and socially. To separate this link politically confuses much of the electorate they would see this as a loss of an AS. Such a move would increase the disillusion felt by the ordinary voter in the democratic process, explaining to someone that wants to consult their AM that they also represent constituents living 175 km away is not easy.
The need to equalize constituencies has lead to the huge anomaly of Glyndwr tagged on to Montgomeryshire this plan increases the
anomaly and would lead to further confusion among the electorate such a confusion leads to disillusion with democracy.
The present boundaries of Glyndwr do not correspond with the original District Council boundaries so there is no precedent for maintaining
Glyndwr as a separate identity. I therefore suggest that the South Wrexham Villages be incorporated with Wrexham.
