Comment DBCC-7988

Dear Sir
I am writing in the hope you would reconsider your proposal to pair the Vale of Glamorgan constituency with the Bridgend one.
I believe it would be better to pair it with Cardiff South and Penarth. It already shares a local government boundary with Cardiff South and until recently the settlement of Dinas Powys was in the Vale constituency.
Both these constituencies(Vale And Cardiff) share strong community and transport links. With large parts of the Vale heading towards Cardiff for retail social and Employment facilities. Whilst residents of Cardiff south head the other way for Social and recreational offerings.
Bridgend would be better paired with Aberavon/maesteg as opposed to the Vale of glamorgan, As they too share local govt boundaries. With residents of Aberavon /Maesteg heading towards the Bridgend for retail and employment opportunities, adding that there are also strong transport links between the 2 constituencies.
Finally Bridgend has a stronger shared history with Aberavon Maesteg with that of the Vale of Glamorgan.
Please give these points your fullest considerations before finalising your decision.
Yours sincerely
Councillor Vince Driscoll
Dinas Powys Ward
