Comment DBCC-8100

As a former resident of Pontypridd with family still in the town, I would like to raise an objection to the name of the proposed ‘Merthyr, Cynon, Taf’ constituency. This name erases the town of Pontypridd which is unacceptable whilst retaining reference to Merthyr Tydfil. The name also risks causing confusion with the Westminster constituencies on which this larger constituency is based which uses the place names. Whilst the name uses the relevant parts of the Rhondda Cynon Taf council area, that does not reflect the identity of people in the area. I would propose the name reverts to some variation of Pontypridd, Merthyr, ac Aberdâr to reflect the relevant place names.
