Comment DBCC-8155

Dear Reader,

I found an article on the Golwg website about new constituencies for the 2026 Welsh Parliament election. I noticed that the original names for the regions / counties of the country are chosen over English ones which is a very good thing for the reason that Welsh names often refer to the name, history, landscape / geographical elements, culture, industry, etc. which are all important.

The name Sir Gâr (which is a short name for the original: Sir Gaerfyrddin) does not correspond with the purpose of using the original Welsh names as explained above. I think shortening area names in this way is going to damage the argument of having only Welsh names as Sir Gâr doesn't mean anything like the English name for the county: Carmarthenshire.

I hope you get my message and would re-consider changing the name from Sir Gâr to Sir Gaerfyrddin.

Happy Holidays
