I am writing to object to a Welsh-only name (Gwynedd Maldwyn) for this constituency. Wales is becoming far more divisive and this will not help. I also see that you have done nothing about the ridiculously large constituency proposed for Montgomeryshire. This so-called “super” constituency covers c. 25% of Wales. It is far too large and unwieldy stretching from south of Llangurig to Aberdaron and across to the English border. Unbelievable. How can you justify this? Or rather, how can Welsh Government justify this? Transport links do not work for the proposed constituency and it's very doubtful that shared history or socio-economic factors offer more coherence. We do not need larger constituencies. Wales is a small country and we need to keep the connection between our Senedd representative and us the voters. The Welsh Government needs to listen and think again about the idea of increasing the number of members to 96 and changing to a closed voting system.
Incidentally wrt this consultation form and RESPONDENT TYPE why should the views of a "Peer from the House of |Lords" be more important than any member of the public who lives in a constituency and votes?
