Comment DBCC-8240

The proposed 'Ceredigion Penfro' constituency is a nonsense. 'Penfro' is the Welsh name of the town Pembroke or historic surrounding cantref. It makes about as much sense in representing the entire area as 'Ceredigion Dinbych y Pysgod' would. It in no way represents or relates to the entirety of Pembrokeshire which this proposed new constituency will cover (along with Ceredigion). Also it fails to represent the linguistic diversity in the South of Pembrokeshire. I can see the Democracy and Boundary Commission really don't like English much but there is more going on here in Pembrokeshire. Our place names are not 'translations' of Welsh, they are in many and most cases the original names and represent our culture and history. It makes no sense to have one minority culture/language (Cymraeg) eradicating an even more minority culture/dialect (that of South Pembrokeshire).
