Comment DBCC-8265

The way Rhondda has been split from the rest of the connected valleys shows that there is a lack of respect for the cultural links that exist and the divide that the environment actually inflicts on communities. This is reflected by the views that people in the Rhondda can easily access facilities in the Ogmore, Afon, Port Talbot or Bridgend areas such as Hospitals. Creating such a boundary will lead to decisions being made by other constituencies that will affect the Rhondda without any recourse. This will be true for more than just health and councils. The mountains of Wales have and will always divide communities, the valleys have always held them together. The suggested constituency of Afon Ogmore Rhondda will just divide Rhondda from the communities closest to it and marginalise it, as I don't see where the MS would base themselves to be able to be accessible to the whole constituency as I know of no good transport links between Rhondda and the rest of the proposed grouping.
I can see this as an outsider from England who has lived here for over ten years.
