Good afternoon – this consultation was discussed in a meeting of Bala Town Council last nighr.
I have been asked to make the following representations:
1. The Gwynedd Maldwyn constituency is too large, presenting practical implications for Senedd Members etc.
2. There are significant cultural and linguistic variations within the proposed constituencies, and it would be very difficult for members to be able to represent these various characteristics. Members wish to remind you that the Berwyn mountains divide the electoral area, a have done so geographically and culturally over centuries.
We therefore urge you to consider these matters, and to draw up an electoral area that better represents the area, its people and their attributes.
