Comment DBCC-8427

The intention to use only Welsh for the name of the constituencies is clearly discriminatory. As only 14% -18% of the population speak Welsh, this decision is simply perverse. Moreover, both languages are supposed to be treated equally, so English has to be used, not just Welsh.
If only one language to describe the constituencies is to be used, then that language surely has to be English.
The vast majority of residents in these constituencies only speak English, so, it cannot be right for constituencies to be named in Welsh only. The constituencies that include Caerphilly , Newport and Cardiff for example, are English speaking communities and that fact should be recognised when naming these constituencies. As so few people speak Welsh, we should not be faced with having the name of the constituency in Welsh only.
To carry on with this decision, will demonstrate a determination to discriminate against the overwhelming majority who speak English.
To repeat, if only one language has to be used, then that language should quite obviously be English. But that it seems has never been a consideration.
And if it has never been a consideration to use English only for the English speaking majority, then it should never be a consideration to use Welsh only.
