The naming of the Monmouth and Torfaen Constituency as Mynwy Torfaen reads in English as Monmouth Torfaen whereas the area the constituency covers is the County of Monmouthshire and Torfaen rather than the locality of the town. It is proposed that the naming of this constituency should be Sir Fynwy Torfaen rather than Mynwy Torfaen for this reason.
